Nantucket Arts Festival 2016

Nantucket Arts Council’s fall festival for 2016 opens upstairs in Sherburne Hall at the Preservation Institute, 11 Centre Street on Friday, September 30 and closes on Sunday, October 9 of Columbus Day Weekend. This annual celebration spotlights the broad array of arts and culture on Nantucket, with plans in progress for this year’s celebration to include visual, musical, theatrical, literary, and other fine arts along with appreciation of the island’s historical, architectural, and other cultural assets.

This year, over thirty events are offered by many of our island's cultural institutions including the Nantucket Historical Association, Nantucket Atheneum, Nantucket Dreamland, Nantucket Island School of Design, Nantucket Community Music Center, Theatre Workshop of Nantucket, Nantucket Culinary Institute and a new theater group named "The House That Mac Built."  The Nantucket Arts Council Signature Events are free and include our daily art exhibit “Not Knowing What to Expect: Discovering the Unexpected,” and new addition this year "Family Variety Show Celebrating the Arts," and "Cut Piece" performed by Caitlin Marcoux.
