Nantucket Atheneum

The Nantucket Atheneum, a private non-profit organization, provides public library service to the island’s residents. The Atheneum also serves as a cultural center for the Nantucket community by sponsoring educational programming and maintaining special collections related to the history and culture of the island.

Theatre Workshop of Nantucket

Since their founding in 1956, the Theatre Workshop strives to be a vital resource for all who live in and visit Nantucket. They create jobs, support local merchants and provide entertainment that sustains Nantucket’s historic downtown. Through excitment and inspiration the Theatre Workshop fulfills their mission to be Nantucket’s public theater.

White Heron Theatre

Through our unique process of collaboration and building a tight professional, acting ensemble, White Heron produces theatrical work that engages the audience in a transformative experience. They invite the audience to live inside the play and engage in a truthful and compelling journey that touches the human experience through art.

The essence of their work explores basic human truths in classical and contemporary text.  The experience, then, is universal. It crosses all divides—social, economic, and cultural. White Heron's educational outreach programs provide a foundation for developing life skills discovered though this theatrical process.
